MnDRIVE RSAM Industrial Partnership Grant Funding Opportunity

May 29, 2016
The deadline for this funding opportunity has passed.

The MnDRIVE Robotics, Sensors, and Advanced Manufacturing (RSAM) initiative [] invites proposals for the Industrial Partnership Grant. These grants will serve to co-fund the development of collaborative projects between faculty and industry partners in RSAM areas.

The objective is to support industrial collaborations in which RSAM can play pivotal roles. The industrial partner is preferably from the Minnesota area, but all partnerships will be considered.

These grants provide matching funds (up to 1:1) for Sponsored Projects from local industrial partners. Awards will be made at two levels: a small level up to $25,000, and a medium level up to $50,000. The award amounts will be determined by the potential of the project to enhance and grow future industrial collaboration, the needs of the project, and the level of support provided by the industrial partner.

The proposal should be limited to 2 pages and it should detail the following information:

    1. Novelty of proposed work
    2. Fit to MnDRIVE (RSAM)
    3. Specific tasks
    4. Committed industrial partnership
    5. Plans to seek external follow-on funding

In addition to the 2 page proposal, the following is required:

    1. Up to one page of references
    2. Industry partnership commitment letters for the funding level
    3. 2 page CVs in NSF or NIH style of the key personnel
    4. Budget and budget justification
    5. A list of current and pending support including internal funding

Use of funds for equipment, and/or in kind contributions, are not encouraged but may be considered. Faculty salaries are not allowed. Please submit the above information as a single PDF file (file size < 5 MB).

Due date: Sunday 29 May 2016, but proposals may be accepted beyond the deadline based on availability of funds and novelty of the proposal.
